Welcome to Thurber Farm Dog Boarding

Quality over quantity always!

At Thurber Farm, we’re dedicated to providing a truly unique and enriching experience for your K9 family member(s). I created this space because I couldn’t find a place where I felt truly comfortable boarding my own dogs, somewhere peaceful, personal, and safe. So, I built the kind of place I was looking for.

Our farm offers a safe, spacious, and free-range environment where dogs can roam, play, and explore to their heart’s content. With only four large indoor-outdoor kennels, we keep things intentionally small so each dog receives individualized care and attention, just like they would at home.

About Thurber Farm Dog Boarding

Welcome to Thurber Farm, Where Dogs Run Free and Get Treated Like Family!

Nestled in the heart of Palmetto, FL at 830 79th St. East, Thurber Farm is more than just a dog boarding facility  it’s a home away from home for your K9 companions. Founded by Mandy Thurber, Thurber Farm was built on a deep love for animals and a commitment to providing dogs with a space where they feel safe, loved, and free to be themselves.

I started Thurber Farm in 2019 with a few chickens, goats, then eventually added cows and a horse all of which are my pets. Over time, my passion for animals evolved into this boarding facility where dogs could experience the same care and attention and peace I give to my own animals.

What makes Thurber Farm truly special is its location. We’re backed up by a 2,000-acre preserve that I take my three personal dogs to all the time. It’s quiet, peaceful, and far from the hustle and bustle  the perfect setting for a relaxed and stress-free stay. Your dog will get to enjoy that same peaceful atmosphere, with plenty of space to explore and unwind.

With only four large indoor outdoor kennels, we focus on giving each dog personalized care, whether they love roaming around in our secure, open play areas or curling up for a quiet nap indoors. Our farm is small and secluded, ideal for dogs that thrive in an stress-free, peaceful environment.

If you’re looking for a place where your dog will be treated like part of the family  with room to roam, plenty of love, and individualized care Thurber Farm is the perfect fit. Come see why we’re Palmetto’s best-kept secret for happy, relaxed dogs!

• Include comfort items

Beds, blankets, or toys from home are welcome to help your dog feel relaxed and at ease in their kennel.

DON’T:

• Don’t skip heart worm/flea prevention

• Don’t worry! Your dog is in loving, capable hands. We treat every guest like our own.

When you Arrive

When you arrive for your dog’s stay, head to the west pasture. You’ll see our blue kennel building you can’t miss it! It’s just past my blue house, around the corner.

Please park your car outside the double gate and be sure to keep your dog on a leash. This is especially important for their first encounter with our farm animals many dogs have never seen such large animals before and may react unpredictably at first but warm up them quickly.

Mandy will meet you at the gate to walk you and your dog in for a proper first-time introduction. She’ll give you a quick tour of their “hotel suite” and answer any last-minute questions to make sure everyone feels comfortable and excited for the stay.

We’re looking forward to meeting you!
